About us
Peter Nicholson MSDC from Assured Fine Furniture completed a 5-year apprenticeship as an Engineering Master Pattern Maker. He later worked in the aerospace industry, developing his extreme accuracy and attention to detail. After moving into the handmade furniture industry, Peter developed an enviable reputation for furniture making excellence.
In 2005, Peter was the finalist in the Prestigious Woodworker of the Year Competition. He won Bronze in the European Woodwork Competition. He also won Awards for Outstanding Craftsmanship. With hard work and dedication to creating superb quality furniture, Peter has ensured that business goes from strength to strength.
Business expansion
Peter was joined in the business by his wife, Frances. She completed an intensive course in French polishing, gilding, upholstery and antique restoration. Combined with Peter's craftsmanship and knowledge, Assured Fine Furniture is able to provide a complete furniture package.
How our commission process works
- Design – We visit all customers to take accurate details of what is required. We then design the item in consultation with you, resulting in a design you love
- Materials – All furniture we provide is hand-crafted using the finest woods available locally and worldwide
- Mechanics – The way the furniture moves is just as important as how it looks. Proper articulation is achieved by skillful use of hand tools
- Finish – Every piece of furniture is finished to a high standard
